The title race in the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League season has been one of the best in recent years especially with the two combatants, Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko leading the chase.
Both sides have had plenty of scratches, bumps and bruises this season from a jerky start to the campaign to changing head coaches.
Edward Nii Odoom was relegated to the youth team after going three matches without a win with the Phobians.
Kosta Papic walked in last year in December and revitalized the squad but left the club in February unceremoniously after falling out with players and club officials.
However, the 2009 champions have found their feet again under Samuel Boadu after racking up five wins on the bounce without conceding a goal in the process.
Kotoko sacked Maxwell Konadu following a poor run of form and handed the role to John Smith in the interim. The Porcupines later confirmed Abdul Gazale as the head coach before confirming the appointment of Portuguese Headcoach Mariano Barreto.
In what has been a crazy season so far with the likes of Bechem United, Great Olympics, Medeama SC having all tasted the top spot position, it is Hearts of Oak who now have the advantage over rivals Kotoko as they lead with 49 points, two clear of the Porcupine Warriors who are in second after matchday 27.
The title run-in
But the subsequent games of Hearts are daunting despite playing more than half of the matches at the Accra Sports Stadium. Kotoko rather have tricky games and will have to start grinding results after unconvincing performances in recent matches.
Hearts Of Oak start their last seven fixtures of the season with the Manstse Derby against Great Olympics at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The Wonder Club emerged 2-0 winners over the Phobians in the reverse fixture, a scoreline Hearts boss Boadu will want to avoid.
They will have face Medeama SC who took three points in the first leg in Tarkwa before coming up against in-form Legon Cities.
The Super Clash against Kotoko comes on next before ties with Ebusua Dwarfs and Liberty Professionals who are in chase for survival. Hearts travel to play WAFA in their last fixture.
For the Porcupine Warriors, they start with the Ashanti Derby against AshantiGold before hosting struggling Inter Allies at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Karela United are next in line before the Super Clash against their rivals Hearts of Oak. The 23 time champions will host relegation-threatened King Faisal before facing Bechem United and Elmina Sharks.
