Chairman of Songwriters Association of Ghana, Emmanuel Barnes, popularly known as Mr. Logic, says young Kumerican rapper Yaw Tog has been overly publicised by Ghanaians.
Speaking on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM, he said that although the young man is talented he is not very strong lyrically.
This comment came off the heels of a conversation about Ghana being left out of this year’s BET Awards.
"Yaw Tog is overhyped and does not make any sense in his songs. I will say this on authority without any insults. It doesn’t mean he is not talented. There is a difference between being talented and making sense."
Mr. Logic told Andy Dosty, host of the show, that the likes of Yaw Tog and other artistes of his kind are not fit to qualify and represent Ghana at the BET.

He said that Yaw Tog is still young and has more time to grow his craft, adding that he supports Taw Tog’s mother’s call for him to further his education.
"The boy has the zeal. Why do you think his mother is pushing him to go back to school? It's because she has seen there is a lot ahead of the boy that she wouldn’t want fame to get into his head to deviate him from education. He needs to learn to upgrade himself with education so he can transfer that into his songs."
Thorsten Owusu Gyimah, popularly known as Yaw Tog, is a Ghanaian rapper who became famous after the popularisation of Asakaa (drill music) by Kumerican artistes.
He was later named BET Amplified International Artist for April for his breakout hit ‘Sore’, with a remix that features Kwesi Arthur and British-Ghanaian rapper Stormzy.
Yaw Tog has released a seven-track Time EP.
