Public Relations Officer for Accra Great Olympics, Emmanuel Saint Osei, has credited the club’s outstanding season in the Ghana Premier League to the extra financial support provided by certain individuals.
Olympics have had an incredible season so far and currently sit in third, just three points off the top.
The performances displayed on the pitch by the Accra-based club have caught the eyes of many Ghanaians especially because many assumed the Dade boys will be involved in a relegation scrap.
In an interview on the Joy Sports Link with Nathaniel Attoh, the PRO for the club, Saint Osei attributed the team's success to some individuals who have helped in motivating the players financially to enable them give their best on the pitch.
"Some individuals, past management members, who occasionally will also come around and motivate the boys financially. I believe nobody will want to follow anything that is not interesting. When you delight in the thing obviously you will want to be part of that success so I think that was the trick,’’ he said.
He also added that, aside financial motivation, they have had to throw away old habits that were retarding their progress.
"What really has happened to Great Olympics has to do with hard work, instilling discipline amongst playing body and ensuring that the very thing that was not helping had to be truncated to ensure that we do the right things to make us achieve or see what we are seeing at the moment,’’ he concluded.
Annor Walker’s men, who are currently three points off the top, travel to Karela United for their next game on matchday 27.
