Multichoice Ghana has unveiled a year of exciting television content during a Virtual Content Showcase at the weekend.
The content showcase revealed exciting and thrilling content that will keep you glued to your TV screen for the rest of 2021.
Due to the prevalence of Covid-19 in Ghana, this year’s Content Showcase was held virtually allowing customers to watch the live stream via Zoom and other social media platforms.
The 2021 content showcase which highlighted MultiChoice’s new product offerings, updates on technological innovations and local content investments, is a start of an exciting journey for 2021.
Speaking during the Showcase Cecil Sunkwa Mills, MultiChoice Ghana, Managing Director announced that SuperSport acquired the broadcast rights for the 2022 FIFA World plus sports fans could look forward to a captivating coverage of the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic games. In addition, all 51 games of Euro 2021 will be live and in HD on DStv and GOtv.
Speaking at the same occasion, MultiChoice Ghana, Head of Marketing, Anne Asantewa Sackey said, “It remains essential that MultiChoice addresses consumer needs, create excellent content that customers in Ghana love, and deliver it in a way that reflects their viewing needs.” She added that DStv and GOtv customers want a personalised and compelling streaming experience and we deliver it via the best-in-class technology.
On his part, Channel Manager of Akwaaba Magic, Kennedy Danyi-Appah said “MultiChoice has played a significant role in developing the local film industry through the introduction of the Akwaaba Magic channel as well as building capacity of players through the MultiChoice Talent Factory initiative.” During the event, several MultiChoice achievements were highlighted which included the successful graduation of four Ghanaian students from the West Africa hub of the MultiChoice Talent Factory.
Entrenching the Hyper-Local strategy announced last year by MutiChoice Africa was the fruition of the first Ghanaian 24/7 channel, Akwaaba Magic and recently launched HONEY, an Africa Lifestyle channel. Through these investments, we have continued to be leaders not only in entertainment and sports broadcast but consolidates our position as “Africa’s Most Loved Storyteller.
Another innovation that was highlighted during the 90-minute showcase event was Showmax, the video streaming service from MultiChoice that was launched in Ghana last year. Showmax provides both customers and non-customers with the opportunity to stream more exciting content like Series, News, Sports, Kids Show, etc. on up to five mobile devices.
DStv Premium customers can access Showmax at no additional cost while our Compact Plus, Compact, Family, and Access customers can access Showmax at a discount of 50% through Showmax Add to Bill.
