The Food and Drugs Board (FDB) says it would prosecute private broadcasting houses that advertise unapproved traditional medicines and alcoholic beverages.
A number of private broadcasting houses have a last opportunity to escape prosecution for airing misleading adverts of regulated products including medicines and alcoholic beverages.
The FDB said henceforth it will no longer tolerate what it calls blatant violation of the law in the broadcast of regulated products.
The threat was contained in a statement issued by the board in which it expressed its displeasure with broadcasting houses and radio presenters for promoting unapproved traditional medicines and alcoholic beverages.
Head of the Drugs Inspectorate at the FDB, Peter Agyemang Duah, said the statement is the final warning and any media house subsequently found violating the law on regulated products will be prosecuted.
