Chinese Super League side Shenzhen FC have announced the signing of Ghanaian midfielders Mubarak Wakaso and Frank Acheampong.
The Black Stars duo have signed four-year contracts with the mega-rich club.
Wakaso became a free agent in March after Jiangsu FC ceased operations. The former Deportivo Alaves man spent a year at Jiangsu and helped them win the 2020 Chinese league.
Acheampong parted ways with Tianjin Jinmen Tiger, two years after signing a new contract which was expected to end in June 2022. He joined them in 2018 from Belgian top-flight side Anderlecht.
His agent Oliver Konig said; “Many clubs were interested to sign Frank. Not only Chinese clubs, but we also had concrete offers from Europe and the Gulf region as well.
Finally, Shenzhen turned out to present the most exciting project to Frank. He agreed on a four-year deal because his ambitions and the club’s ambitions matched pretty well. Frank will try his best to build a legacy there such as he did in Tianjin."
Acheampong was not included in Black Stars' recent games against South Africa and Sao Tome and Principe.
But Wakaso featured in both games as Charles Akonnor's side secured qualification to the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations tournament to be staged in Cameroon.
