Eighty-four (84) more persons in Ghana have contracted the novel coronavirus.
This brings the total number of active cases to 1,414, according to the Ghana Health Service (GHS).
As of April 7, some 89,092 people had recovered from the virus as the cumulative confirmed cases hit 91,260.
No new casualty has been recorded leaving the death toll at 754.
Per the GHS website, 28 of the cases are severe with 10 others in critical condition.
Regional breakdown of cases
Greater Accra Region - 50,384; Ashanti Region - 15,400; Western Region - 5,743; Eastern Region - 4,148; Central Region - 3,309; Volta Region - 2,385; Northern Region - 1,644; Bono East Region - 1,422; Bono Region - 1,344; Upper East Region - 1,307; Western North Region - 854; Ahafo Region - 704; Upper West Region - 493; Oti Region - 406; North East Region - 223; Savannah Region - 120.
Vaccination
Government is still on course to rollout vaccines for a section of the population to prevent the spread of Covid-19 across the country.
So far 681,211 dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine have been administered as of April 9, 2021.
