The Tema Oil Refinery says the 60,000 barrels a day crude oil deal government secured from Nigeria should bring an end to interruptions in the supply of petroleum products onto the market.
President Mills on his recent visit to Nigeria managed to seal the deal which would see Nigeria supply sixty thousand barrels of crude oil per day to the refinery payable after with a ninety day grace period.
TOR says the new arrangement should help meet the 45-thousand-barrels-a-day daily requirement of the refinery.
Head of Public Affairs Abba Lokko said the supply will ensure that petroleum supply on the market is not interrupted.
A similar agreement secured in the early days of President Kufuor’s tenure was whittled down to a 30-day credit arrangement.
It was eventually scuttled because Ghana could not satisfy the credit terms.
