The country's micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) sector will receive improved service from a stronger partnership between government and the private sector.
The agenda which is being championed by the National Board for Small Scale Industries, now the Ghana Enterprise Agency is aimed at making the sector a stronger pillar to economic growth.
Executive Director of the agency, Kosi Yankey-Ayeh hinted that such collaborations are needed to transform the economy. She was speaking at the Access Bank Graphic Business SME clinic in Accra.
“Indeed we can use digital solutions to integrate our SME sector and accelerate the growth that is needed. But we cannot do that in isolation, this is why we are collaborating with organisations including the Association of Ghana Industries to use their database to have a better picture of where the SMEs are”.
“The intention of the Ghana Enterprise Agency is mainly for the development of the sector and formalize more businesses so we shall collaborate to give them better and improved services” she said.
Divisional Head of Retail Banking at Access Bank Ghana, Stephen Abban said his outfit is always prepared to support the government to build a resilient economy to support SMEs.
“Access Bank has developed many digital solutions for our SMEs customer base and we are happy to welcome them to explore some of these solutions to access cheaper funds” he noted.
Chief Executive of the Association of Ghana Industries, Seth Twum Akwaboah urged the government to prioritize digital infrastructure in all parts of the country to support their integration and growth.
The event is supported by JOYBUSINESS.
