The unwavering resistance by the authorities of the Achimota School to admit some two Rastafarian students has led to an open discussion for a possible review of Ghana's code of conduct for schools.
The Ghana Education Service initially directed the authorities of the school to enroll the students.
The Service, however, backtracked on their earlier directive.
Parties such as the school’s Old Students Association, PTA and NAGRAT have all thrown their weight behind the school to resist what they describe as blatant non-compliance with the rules.
With the general public sharing opposing views on the matter, PM Express is set to host stakeholders in the matter and also expand the conversation to cover other simmering minorities and diversity in second cycle institutions.
Evans Mensah will dissect the issues together with one of the students in question Tyron Targhuy, his father, NAGRAT President Angel Karbonu, the spokesperson for the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Aremeyaw Shaibu and legal practitioner, Martin Kpebu.
