Two persons have died while 30 others sustained various degrees of injuries in a car crash on the Kintampo-Tamale highway on Tuesday.
The accident according to eyewitnesses happened at about 5 pm near the Soronoase tollbooth in the Bono East Region.
A detached tyre of a tractor led to the accident that involved a Sprinter commercial bus, the eyewitnesses said.
The bus was said to be returning from Bolgatanga and was heading to Sunyani.
According to some passengers, the driver of the tractor tried to prevent a collision with the Sprinter bus, however, all efforts made proved futile.
Two persons in the bus lost their lives on the spot.
Four out of the 30 passengers who sustained severe injuries were admitted to the Holy Family Hospital in Techiman.
The others have been taken to the Kintampo Municipal Hospital for treatment.
