The Ajumako-Enyan-Esiam Member of Parliament (MP) has expressed his disappointment in President Akufo-Addo's State of the Nation Address.
According to Cassiel Ato Forson, Akufo-Addo came off as unprepared and unsure of what he was saying during his address to the Nation on Tuesday.
He said, "I was personally disappointed, disappointed in the sense that I did not see the president owning his own speech today. It was really sad that he was struggling to pronounce certain keywords in his speech. It either he failed to prepare or he wasn’t confident of some of the things he was saying himself today."
This he says calls for concern for a president to appear before Parliament and not being able to own his own speech.
Mr Forson's comment comes after Akufo-Addo delivered his first State of the Nation Address for his second term.
The President among other things spoke about the socio-economic and political state of the country.
Unimpressed with his speech, the former Deputy Finance Minister further stressed that Akufo-Addo's address was a repetition of his 2020 manifesto.
He rather wished the speech was tailored more on fostering unity and addressing vital issues pondering the minds of its citizens.
"I would have thought looking at the state of the nation today, our president would have at the minimum come out with a speech that will be reconciliatory, I mean to bring the country together and not to use words like they did this and I did that and trying to do unnecessary comparison."
