The Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo) says the nationwide power outage on Sunday afternoon is due to a challenge in the power system.
In a press release issued by management, GRIDCo stated that the challenge has led to a total shutdown of their systems which in turn interrupted power supply.
"The Technical team is currently working to restore power supply to all Bulk Supply Points (BSPs) in the country," part of the statement read.
GRIDCo added that they are also working to establish why there is a total system shutdown.
The company pledged to update the relevant stakeholders with the necessary information so the needed steps can be taken.
"Any inconvenience caused is deeply regretted," the statement concluded.
