Host of Showbiz A-Z and Late Night Express, George Quaye says 25 years in jail is not enough for men who partake in revenge porn.
According to him, such persons deserve life sentences for breaching the trust of women who at a point in their lives shared their nudity with them.
Speaking to JoyNews’ Samsom Lardy Anyenini, Mr Quaye said most of these occurrences root from jealousy in knowing that a former partner has moved on with his or her life.
“So the relationship has taken a break. It’s broken, it’s messed up and then you the man you have this lady’s nudes on your phone, and a week before her wedding, you are so jealous, so bitter so angry that you leak it. 25 years is not enough, you deserve a life sentence because it’s a breach of trust," he said.
His statement comes at a time when Ghana has secured a win against sexual blackmail by passing a law that makes perpetrators face up to 25 years in jail or pay at least GH¢ 30,000 to victims for circulating or threatening to circulate indecent images.
Mr Quaye however stated that although he is against women sending and posting nudes because of the consequences they tend to breed, he does not have any concerns when it is done among married people.
Explaining this he said, "to be able to get your man in the best of moods, don’t wait for him to get home, start when he is at work and one of the ways you can start is by sending him pictures of yourself, that is between the two of you, two mature people."
"So that when you close from work you don’t follow the boys to go and watch Manchester United beat Manchester City but you just rush home to your partner and celebrate love," he said.
