Ghana received 600,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccines this week.
It was the first African country to receive COVID-19 vaccines from the COVAX facility. Health Minister-designate Kwaku Agyemang Manu told Ghanaians the President will be the first to take the jab when vaccination starts on March 2.
It appears, however, that some persons are still skeptical about the vaccines as some say they will rather monitor the reaction of those who take the jab first before opting to be vaccinated.
Meanwhile, Health experts are urging citizens to accept the vaccines as it is safe with very little or no side effects detected around the world so far.
Elsewhere at the Savelugu Government Hospital, patients were left stranded after the facility was shut down because of a surge in Covid-19 cases in communities and among medical staff.
The Medical Director assured that the facility will reopen on Monday, March 1 after fumigation.
The Frontiers Health Services contract with the Ghana Airport company Limited (GACL) was a subject for discussion as many raised many questions surrounding the details of the contract.

One of the offices of members of the LGBTQ fraternity in Ashongman was shut down by the police. Amnesty International describes the act as an invasion of a safe space for the group and Private Legal Practitioner, Dennis Owusu Appiah Ofosu Apea said the shutdown was unconstitutional.

In some sad development, 19 persons, including children died in an accident on the Accra-Kumasi Highway following a head-on collision between two fully loaded passenger buses.
Dozens of people involved in the accident continue to receive treatment at the Suhum Government Hospital.
According to the Police, the two Grand Bird vehicles collided after the bus from Accra overtook a vehicle at the Akyem-Asafo Junction without observing traffic signs from the opposite direction.
