Following the Supreme Court ruling that it cannot compel the Electoral Commission Chair, Jean Mensa, to mount the witness box in the ongoing 2020 election petition, some Ghanaians have taken to social media to express their views.
Interesting outcome....#GhanaFirst

While some users have described the development as interesting, others believe it is a recipe for chaos in subsequent elections.
Licence for chaos in 2024 election . If the EC won't be allowed by judges to testify of her own results then it's a recipe for any future EC to just say anything and it's acceptable. I see party hooliganism in 2024. Carlos Ahenkorah told us he did his to send message .

This follows Thursday's ruling by the Apex Court that (per Law) it (Supreme Court) cannot compel the EC testify in the ongoing petition.
The Court in a unanimous decision upheld the application by the 1st and 2nd Respondents not to call any witnesses in the ongoing election petition hearing.
However, some social media users hold the view that the EC boss must mount the witness box to redeem her image despite the ruling.
We all know that per the law, she cannot be compelled to mount the witness box but she should do so to erase the perception circulating within the mind of Ghanaians.

Others also believe the election petition has exposed the "biasness of the apex court."
Look Tsatsu and John mahama knew from day one that the is no way the court will grant their request

I think TSATSU at this point has exposed the biaseness of the court. I ask, what's the interest of the Supreme court in this case?

it means 'we should be spectators not citizens' just like Martin Amidu, Ahmed of TIGER EYE PI was seen as a spectator.

we have nothing to account for.
God bless Ghana and kill INjustice.#ElectionPetition
Meanwhile, Counsel for the petitioner, Tsatsu Tsikata, has disclosed that he will formally subpoena the Electoral Commission (EC) Chair, Jean Mensa in order to cross examine her.
