Ghanaian actor, farmer, and politician, John Dumelo has donated some medical items to the community clinic in his hometown, Lekpe Bala in the Volta Region.
This gesture according to the NDC's 2020 Parliamentary Candidate for Ayawaso West Wuoguon, is to mark his 37th birthday.
Taking to social media to share pictures, Mr. Dumelo revealed that the items included syringes, examination lamps, gallons of sanitisers, and facemasks.
"I celebrated my birthday this morning in my hometown Likpe Bala where I donated various medical items to the community clinic. Some of the items include syringes, Disp gloves, Examination lamps, Face masks, Zinc Oxide plasters, gallons of sanitizers and parazone, etc," he wrote on Twitter.
This is also the first public donation by Mr. Dumelo since his defeat to the incumbent MP for Ayawaso West Wuoguon, Lydia Alhassan in the 2020 polls.
The award-winning actor and entrepreneur had given the incument MP, a run for her money through various activities on social media.
He had also enjoyed massive support and endorsement from colleagues in the entertainment industry.
But he later conceded defeat, after threatening to request a recount of the polls.
“I may not be satisfied with the final results or the irregularities that occurred, but before everything else I am Ghanaian and I will always put the people first “Ut omnes onum sint”. So I’m ready to help to make this constituency the greatest,” he wrote in a post on Facebook.
