My fondest memory of President Rawlings was when he landed in my hometown with helicopter for the ‘96 campaign. We were so little yet waited till dusk when he flew & landed at Sege. #RawlingsGoesHome

Owing to the many varied opinions about his legacy, of which some have described as a "bloody regime", others also idolize Rawlings and consider him a hero.
Both sides of the divide did not hold back on their comments on social media.

I think my dad saw himself as the Rawlings of our house and our community. He did things the military way but was so humane as well. He loved him and I can see remember some of his pictures he had including a shirt with Rawlings on it
