The Speaker of Parliament, Alban Kingsford Sumana Bagbin together with Members of Parliament (MP), Tuesday, paid their last respect to the late former President Jerry John Rawlings at the Accra International Conference Centre.
Dressed in red and black, the Speaker and the MPs filed past the remains of late J.J. Rawlings and sympathised with the bereaved family.
The MPs who were present to file past the body include; Majority Leader in Parliament Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, Minority Leader in Parliament, Haruna Iddrisu, MP for Madina Francis-Xavier Sosu, MP for Awutu Senya West, Gizella Tetteh-Agbotui among others.
In the early hours of Tuesday morning President Akufo Addo, Former President John Mahama and John Agyekum Kufuor also paid their respect.
The late statesman passed away on Thursday, November 12 at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital.
He was laid-in-state on Monday, January 25 and today, January 26, at the Accra International Conference Centre to allow various interest groups and members of the public to have the opportunity to pay their last respect.
The main funeral event will take place at the Black Star Square in Accra, tomorrow, January 27, 2021.
