Former Ghana international Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu has urged Asante Kotoko to revive the club's U-20 team.
"I think we need to revive the u20 of Asante Kotoko," the FIFA U20 World Cup said in an interview with JoySports.
Badu, who recently retired from Ghana's national team, Black Stars after two years hiatus believes building a strong youth team will inculcate the culture of the club into the players.
"Kotoko is like Real Madrid; you can't go for only youth players, but you need to have some of them, promote them to gain the experience and know the culture and character of Kotoko."
He continued "[If this is done successfully], you'll have a good team each and every year," Badu reckon.
Since Nana Yaw Amponsah was appointed Chief Executive Officer in August last year, he has set a focus on building a strong youth system
Recently, the Porcupines signed a partnership agreement with Premier league side Southampton, with youth development being core of the relationship between the two parties.
The former Udinese midfielder is optimistic he will set the foundation for a youth team, but the current pressure from a section of supporters and media means he must build a formidable senior team to fight for laurels.
"I know the CEO [Nana Yaw Amponsah] who is a very good friend of mine has in mind to build a strong U20 team, but now there's a lot of pressure on him. He needs to concentrate on the senior side, get the results and get some players to fit in," he said.
Badu has offered to lead the search of young players for the next Asante Kotoko U20 team.
