A requiem mass was held in honour of the late former President Jerry John Rawlings at the Holy Spirit Cathedral at Adabraka in Accra.
The event was held to not only pray for Jerry John Rawlings but also celebrate his life and worth.
Present at the mass was his wife Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings and his children Zanetor, Amina, Asantewaa, and Kimathi.
Also making an appearance was President Akufo-Addo, Vice President Dr Mahmudu Bawumia, First Lady Rebecca Akufo-Addo and Second Lady Samira Bawumia.

Preaching to the congregation, the Most Reverend Charles G. Palmer-Buckle said it is important to thank God for Jerry John Rawlings’ life.
“In all things, even in death, we must thank God especially for not knowing when the end will come and we must be glad in life, and we must do well during life."
"Beloved let us continue to thank God even for Jerry's 73 years of life and for making our paths cross, for God in His eternal wisdom gave us the grace to meet and to live with Rawlings for all that he was.”
“We are here to remember Rawlings and to be glad for his life. We are gathered here to thank God for the gift of Jerry John Rawlings, a gift that only God can help us appreciate its worth and gravity,” he said.
The requiem mass which lasted for two hours was followed by a vigil at Air Force Officers Mess.
