The President of Guinea Bissau, Umaro Sissoco Embaló, and Angola's Vice President, Bornito de Sousa have arrived in Ghana ahead of the swearing-in ceremony of President Akufo-Addo tomorrow, January 7, 2021.
They were met at the Kotoka International Airport by Senior Minister, Yaw Osafo Marfo and other government officials.
The President of Liberia, George Manneh Oppong Weah is also said to arrived in the country for the ceremony.
The 3 are among some 13 heads of state who have confirmed their attendance of the event.
These 13 include the President of Senegal, Macky Sall and the President of Côte d’Ivoire, Alassane Ouattara.
Already, the President of the United States of America, Donald J. Trump has announced the selection of a Presidential Delegation to attend the second inauguration of President Akufo-Addo.
Per the announcement, it will be a 2-member delegation led by the United States Special Envoy for the Sahel Region of Africa, Ambassador Dr. J. Peter Pham.
He will be accompanied by the United States Ambassador to the Republic of Ghana, Stephanie S. Sullivan.
Countries including Nigeria, Gambia, India, and France would also be represented by their Foreign Ministers .
But ahead of the event, the national capital appears set for the big event with principal streets and road intersections decorated in colours of the national flag and pictures of the President-Elect and the Vice President-Elect.
The inauguration is expected to be characterized by cultural displays and a parade by the military.
