Interior Minister, Ambrose Dery has reiterated his position to deal with persons found culpable in the electoral violence that occurred during the December polls.

Citing the incident in the Techiman South Constituency and other places where people lost their lives, he indicated that investigations are ongoing to apprehend the perpetrators of the heinous crime.

Speaking to JoyNews' Upper West correspondent, Rafiq Salam from his home at Kokoligu in the Nandom municipality, he stated that the Electoral Commission and its Chairperson, Madan Jean Mensa delivered a transparent electioneering process and hence deserve to be acknowledged for her effort.

"There was no problem with people exercising their democratic rights, the deaths are regrettable, but amongst all the elections that I have lived through, this is the most peaceful, transparent and innovative.

"Things went on so smoothly, I can say without any contradiction that the EC has conducted the most peaceful transparent election in the history of Ghana," he said.

He assured Ghanaians that President Akufo-Addo is committed to ensuring that the rule of law is enforced with regards to the fundamental rights of all persons.

"I serve a President who is a humans rights advocate with a very high pedigree. My instructions are to make sure that the Rule of Law is respected all the time with due regard to fundamental human rights of all concerned"

He urged the family of the 8 election violence victims to help the police in their investigations in finding the persons involved in the acts.
