President of IMANI Africa has asked Member of Parliament for Suame, Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu, to relinquish his position as Majority Leader in Parliament.
Considering the number of seats lost by the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr Cudjoe believes that the incumbent Majority Leader is unfit to continue holding their leadership in Parliament.
"It looks as if the current leadership of the Majority side or what used to be the Majority side would have to be given a second look.
"I think my good friend Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu is a very astute mind but I may want to suggest to him that he probably should relinquish the leadership mantle to someone else probably because, somehow, he has lost the moral authority to go into battle," Mr Cudjoe said.
This comes after the NPP lost about 47 seats in parliament to the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Franklin Cudjoe believes that the loss is largely as a result of events prior to holding the NPP parliamentary primaries.
He stated that the Executive's interference and "the president basically imposing persons here and there" largely contributed to the defeat.
He added that the Majority Leader had a role to play by properly convincing the leadership of the party to maintain some of the Members of Parliament who were kicked out before and during the primaries, but he (Kyei Mensah Bonsu) failed to do so.
"If you are the Major-General of your army and you're going into battle and then you allow the Executive arm of government to virtually decide who you should take into battle, I think it calls for some introspection," he said.
"We saw what happened in Akwatia, we saw what happened in Fomena and the President went there to say that he would not work with anybody who goes contrary to his directive.
"It means that the Parliamentary leadership did not do a proper job of convincing the President that 'I am the chief in Parliament, I know my people and what they can do'," he added.
IMANI's president further suggested that the party considers replacing Mr Kyei Mensah Bonsu with the MP for Effutu, Alexander Kwamina Afenyo-Markin, who he claims has also been at the helm of some of the leadership in Parliament.
He said that replacing the Majority Leader with a much younger person will be a game-changer for the party in Ghana's 8th and hung parliament.
"[Afenyo-Markin] is some sort of an advocate, he's young, and he's possibly a deal maker in a positive sense and can accommodate the other side properly. The next Parliament looks very interesting and you need some people who could help shepherd the process.
"I'm just making a passionate plea and if you look at the other side (opposition) you have the likes of Haruna, Muntaka, Suhuyini, Okudzeto, John Jinapor, these are known to be starters in the game so you need an equally important side which may be younger," he said.
