The Electoral Commission has urged all political parties to adhere to processes laid out by law in contesting the 2020 election results.
Several Parliamentary candidates for the New Patriotic Party and National Democratic Congress after the just-ended elections have raised concerns of election rigging and over voting in some constituencies.
NDC Presidential candidate John Mahama has described the Presidential election results as “fictitious and flawed.”
But in a press statement dated Monday, the Commission admitted that "it is aware of contests to some parliamentary seats by both the New Patriotic Party and the National Democratic Congress in a number of Constituencies."
The Commission also disclosed the number of Parliamentary seats won by the political parties in the December polls.
Out of 275 seats, "Two hundred and seventy-three (273) Parliamentary Seats have been declared in favour of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), National Democratic Congress (NDC) and one (1) Independent Candidate."
Both the New Patriotic Party and National Democratic Congress won 137 and 136 Parliamentary seats respectively.
However, the EC disclosed that the Sene West Parliamentary election result is pending and yet to be finalized in the shortest time possible.
"The Commission assures the general public that it is working to finalize the issues regarding the Sene West Constituency to enable the transparent, fair, credible and peaceful conclusion of the process."
