Member of Parliament for Tempane Constituency, Joseph Kpemka Dindiok has entreated all political leaders to maintain the peace in the country.
According to him, the leaders must provide leadership adding that the demonstrations seen on the streets are a result of false hopes being given to the supporters by ‘somebody’.
‘’Most of these things we see on the streets, the mayhem that is being caused, the burning of tyres and et cetera somebody is giving somebody false hope. If you give a person false hope, that is the result," he said.
Mr. Kpemka cited his electoral area, as one of the constituencies that election went on smoothly without misunderstanding.
“Everything was so peaceful from the polling station to the collation centre. There was not one accusing finger at anything when I lost, I had no qualms with anybody, I walked away”.
Ther Deputy Attorney General further stated that no one is entitled to declare election results apart from the Electoral Commission which is an official body designated for such a purpose.
“The official body responsible for declaration of election result is the Electoral Commission so any other person or body of persons who engages in such acts are engaged in a total illegality and must be made to face the full equals of the law,” he asserted.
