The personal bodyguard of Nigeria singer Davido has died.
Ogbeide Tijani Olamilekan, also known as TeeJay, passed away on Tuesday morning after suffering an illness for a while.
Taking to Instagram to initially announce the news one user from the artiste's camp said TeeJay's death had really hit Davido.
He revealed that the late 36-year-old had worked with the 'If' hitmaker for many years.
"Not sure of the cause of his death yet but aI have known he's been battling with diabetes for a long time. May his soul rest in peace," he added.
Although, Davido had been silent after the news went viral, he took to his Instagram account a day later to reveal he was having a hard time coming to terms with the news.
"Please tell me I am dreaming, my Tj gone? What imma do without you uncle Tj ehn?"
"11 years you did all for me, put me before you at all times...all the times I wouldn’t wanna wake up for a show or flight you’d carry me like a baby in the car...no matter what I did right or wrong you were there for me," he wrote.
He reminisced about their times together through the struggles, shows and flights.
"You were such a big person with a baby heart ... everyone loved you .. I wanna wake up late for a show so you’d come and carry me again ... I don’t even know what I’m typing man ... RIP UNCLE TIJANI ... tired of being “STRONG, [SIC]” Davido added.
