Herbert Addo bemoans missed chances against AS Police

Accra Hearts of Oak coach Hebert Addo says his side’s inability to utilize the many goal scoring opportunities created against AS Police is unpardonable.

Hearts of Oak began their 2015 CAF Confederation Cup campaign with a 1-0 win over AS Police from Benin at the Accra sports stadium on Sunday.

The Phobians enjoyed a lot of possession but could not utilize the chances created throughout the game and only managed to score in the 46th minute when a corner-kick which floated in by Owusu Bempah was headed home by striker Selasi Adjei.

Hearts coach Herbert Addo bemoaned his team’s killer instinct in front of goal.

“We have to go back to the one goal project because if you look at the chances we created in the second half we should at least have scored three goals, it was just unfortunate we could not utilize the chances created,” said coach Addo

“Some of my players were selfish, for me AS Police were just lucky their goalkeeper was superb but having seen them play I think we can go there and beat them.

“Before this game we only knew there were leading their local league with 11 points after winning three and drawing two but I believe we have seen them play now so we will know how to approach the next encounter.”
