The Ghana Police Service has debunked claims that a police personnel shot an alleged ballot box snatcher in Awutu Senya West Constituency.
In a Twitter post, the Service stated that the young man in question was not shot as earlier reported, but instead was saved from a mob attack by some youth in the area.
The youth had accused the man of being a ballot box thief.
According to the Police, the young man who was severely injured has been taken to the Swedru Government Hospital for treatment.
Investigations are currently ongoing.
Police reinforcement team has since sent the injured young man, found in a pool of blood to the Swedru Government Hospital for treatment. Investigation still ongoing.#GhPoliceSecurityTips #GhanaPoliceForPeace #StayAwayFromViolence pic.twitter.com/LWtYeghbeV
