Hearts of Oak remain in the relegation zone of the Ghana Premier League after failing to pick their win first of the season on Friday night against Karela United.
The Phobians could not score at the Accra Sports stadium despite dominating possession and creating the best chances.
In the first half, the two sides failed to test each other with chances hard to come by.
But it was a different story in the second half.
In the early stages, Manaf Gumah shot over the crossbar from close range.
Michelle Sarpong, Hearts' best player of the match, was unlucky not to score as his powerful shot hit the crossbar.
Substitute Kojo Obeng Jr also struck wide in the penalty box.
Then in added time, Patrick Razak missed a glorious opportunity. A fine cross from the left found an unmarked Razak but his header lacked direction and power to beat the goalkeeper.
The result means that Hearts have failed to grab a win since the start of the season while Karela will end matchday 4 as league leaders.
Newly appointed Hearts manager, Kosta Papic watched from the stands as his assistant, Asare Bediako controlled affairs on the sidelines.
