Just a week to the December 7 polls, the Oti regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress, John Kwadwo Gyapong says the party is poised for victory.
According to him, the party is unperturbed about the frequent visit by political bigwigs of the ruling New Patriotic Party to the region.
"The Oti Region remains NDC just as the Ashanti region remains the stronghold of the NPP," he said.
According to him, the creation of the Oti region was a popular demand and should not be the grounds on which the NPP would win any more parliamentary seats in the region.
"The people wanted Oti region that is why there was a referendum, 80% of the people who voted yes in the referendum are NDC members and so we shall win all the constituencies in Oti.
"Even the seat that they have, Krachi East, will be taken from them." he said.
John Gyapong made the comments after he joined the party in the Akan constituency for a peace and memorial walk in memory of the late former President, Jerry John Rawlings.
The Oti Regional Chairman stressed his desire for peace heading towards the 2020 general elections and urged Ghanaians to vote for peace.
"Peace is a major factor in any political organization, it is a factor in the development of any country we need everyone to be peaceful.
"Nobody should come and convince anyone to create confusion to disrupt the elections," he said.
