Hearts of Oak endured heartbreak in their Ghana Premier League opener as they were held by AshantiGold, who scored a late equaliser at the Accra Sports stadium.
The Phobians scored the opener in the 33rd minute thanks to some great work and finish from Obeng Junior. Hearts went into the break with a slender 1-0 lead.
AshantiGold came from the hafltime break with more energy and were rewarded with an equaliser in the 56th minute through Hans Kwofie who found the net from close range.
With 10 minutes left to the end of the game, Obeng Junior grabbed his brace through a header.
However, in the dying embers of the game, Hans Kwofie also earned his brace with a header from close range after he was afforded space by the Hearts of Oak defenders.
