Thomas Partey will miss Arsenal’s trip to Leeds United this weekend due to a thigh injury.
The midfielder picked up the injury during the Gunners’ last match before the international break - a 3-0 defeat to Aston Villa on November 8 - and he has not recovered in time to travel to Elland Road on Sunday.
Partey is continuing to be assessed by Arsenal’s medical team and it is unclear when he will return.
No [Partey will not play], he picked up an injury very early in the game [against Aston Villa], he tried to carry on and he wanted to play the second half and we knew it was a significant injury,” Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta said in the pre-match interview.
Arteta added: “He has done really well, he is working very hard and he wants to be available. Hopefully, we can get him back soon but it is an area where we have to be careful and a bit protective with the player.”
Partey joined Arsenal from Atletico Madrid in the summer transfer window. So far, he has played five games for the Gunners.
