The Church of Pentecost has launched a peace campaign aimed at reminding Ghanaians on the need to avoid violence and maintain peace before, during and after the December elections.
As such, the Mataheko District of the church embarked on a peace walk where members of the church hit the street in the district with messages of peace scripted on placards.
The walk which was under the theme; ‘Seek peace and pursue it’ is aimed at preaching peace to all Ghanaians.
Addressing the members, Head Pastor of the Mataheko District, Joseph Asamoah Boakye said there is a need to maintain peace in the country as it is a crucial tool in national development.
Touching on the December elections ahead, he admonished members against any act that will impede peace in the country before, during, and after the elections in their communities, at their workplaces and everywhere they find themselves.
The Ablekuman Central Municipal District Electoral Commissioner, Joseph Boateng, who was the special guest of honour also noted that the Electoral Commission is prepared to ensure a free and fair election.
He, therefore, encouraged Ghanaians to hold the mandate and responsibilities of ensuring that the peace enjoyed in the country is maintained.
