The 2020/21 Ghana Premier League games will be played behind closed doors following Ministry of Youth and Sports' decision to ban fans from attending sporting events.
President Akufo-Addo in September said stadiums will be open to fans when the top-flight commences but only up to 25% of a facility's capacity with the compulsory wearing of face mask.
But due to the recent spike in coronavirus cases, the ministry has announced that games should be without fans.
A statement by the Ministry read: "In line with the directives of CAF to organize football matches behind closed doors without spectators in the midst of COVID-19 pandemic spike globally."
"The Ministry of Youth and Sports directs that all sporting events including the Premier League matches should be organized behind closed doors and without spectators."
The new season will start on November 14 with Aduana Stars hosting Hearts of Oak.
