Anti-riot police have been heavily deployed in Uganda's capital, Kampala, ahead of presidential nominations.
Opposition figure Robert Kyagulanyi, popularly known as Bobi Wine, is today expected to present his nomination papers to the electoral commission.

On Monday, President Yoweri Museveni was cleared to run for another term by the electoral commission.
Small groups of his supporters dressed in the ruling party's colour yellow lined the streets on Monday singing and dancing, to welcome the president's motorcade to the nomination venue.
