Independent presidential candidate, Alfred Kwame Asiedu Walker has asked Ghanaians to ditch the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the upcoming elections.
The only independent candidate in the presidential race explains that the two leading political parties are responsible for the country’s woes.
However, Mr Walker has assured Ghanaians the gross mismanagement in the last four decades will be undone when he is given the nod on December 7.
"There's a gender issue that we all hold so strongly. Women are capable of doing the same work as men. So yes, able-bodied men, able-bodied women are certainly welcome to do the same work if they so choose," he said.
Mr Walker said sustainable job creation, women empowerment, decent accommodation for the poor, modernizing waste management, abolishing okada, among other things, remain crucial to him.
"If we talk about cleanliness, environmental sanity, this is exactly what we are looking at here. Obviously, street garbage has not been collected for a while, but it must be a daily job.
"It's obvious people here are desperately in need of jobs but here we are, with garbage on the streets. We can employ the neighborhood cleaning people to be cleaning them on a daily basis," he added.
He was speaking on his campaign tour of Ashaiman Constituency in the Greater Accra Region where he urged the authorities in charge of ensuring cleanliness in the community to do so.
He further noted that, his government will prioritize women empowerment.
"We are going to focus on helping parents develop the children in their homes. We feel their sorrows, they are all saying the same thing; they are tired of both the NPP and NDC," Mr Walker added.
