Gervonta Davis delivered a vicious left uppercut to knock Leo Santa Cruz out cold for a sensational sixth-round KO victory.
The victory which was witnesses by some 9,000 fans spread out at the Alamodome in San Antonio gave Davis the WBA super featherweight title to add to his WBA lightweight title.
Davis (24-0, 23 KOs) rattled Santa Cruz with a pair of left hooks to in the sixth round to set up the final blow--a left-handed uppercut to the jaw that dropped Santa Cruz to end the contest.
Davis answered questions about his discipline due to a history of struggling to make weight, and demonstrated his skill against one of boxing’s most accomplished fighters.
