The Inspector-General of Ghana Police, James Oppong-Boanuh has stated that about 40 security personnel will be deployed to the Oti Region to ensure security in the upcoming 2020 General Elections.
Mr James Oppong-Boanuh made the statement while addressing the traditional authorities in his visit to the Oti Region to gauge the region's preparedness towards December 7 polls.
According to him, this initiative will tighten up the security in the region to ensure that the lives of electorates and citizens are well protected during the election period.
As part of the activities to prepare the police and the people towards the elections, the IGP observed a crowd control simulation exercise by the police personnel in the region.
The IGP assured the people of Oti Region that their safety was of paramount importance and guaranteed the presence of police officers and that of other state security agencies as the country heads towards its General Elections.
