The Volta Regional Coordinating Council would in November this year organise a one week trade and investment fair to market the region and its districts.
In preparation to the fair, key personalities from the various municipal and district assemblies on Friday began a strategic meeting.
The fair to be the biggest ever in the region, is expected to attract local and foreign investors and exhibitors, which would boost socio-economic activities.
It would be launched officially in the region on July 15 and a national launch on August 26, this year.
The fair aims at promoting agriculture development, tourism and private sector businesses. Districts assemblies would be given specific days and periods to market their products, services and other potentials.
Other activities earmarked include, exhibitions, business seminars, match-making and product launching.
Addressing participants at the maiden strategic preparatory meeting, Mr Joseph Amenowode, Volta Regional Minister noted that the region is endowed with rich human and material resources and needed such exposures to turn around the fortunes of the region.
He commended Mr Raymond Okudjeto, President of Volta Foundation, a non-governmental organization and the Netherlands Development Organization (SNV) that initiated the fair and charged all assemblies to get involved.
Mr Raymond Okudjeto expressed the hope that the fair would help change the face of the region with many economic opportunities.
Mr Seth Quarshie Yawlui, a SNV Advisor, appealed to the people of the region and other stakeholders to support the fair to make it a success.
