The economic adviser and spokesperson to the Vice President says the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is second to none in the economic and development drive of the country.
Dr Gideon Boako said, “It is quite clear that in terms of governance, in terms of development for the people, in terms of economic management, the NPP stands tall and second to none.”
According to him, the Akufo-Addo led government has many interventions to show for the stewardship.
Speaking to Joy News after the launch of the NPP Drivers Association at Duayaw Nkwanta in the Ahafo Region, he called on the drivers to join in ensuring a resounding victory for the party come December 7.
“We are in the process or time that every single hand must be put on deck to make sure that we get a resounding victory in 2020,” he said.
The economic adviser also stated that the work of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for eight years cannot match that of the NPP in four years.
“After eight years of the NDC, if you ask a child on the street to mention anything that Mahama can be remembered for, it will be a difficulty for them to mention anything,” he mentioned.
“If you fast forward to President Akufo- Addo era, at least Ghanaians can talk of free Senior High School, we are building industries under the One-District One-Factory, Planting for Food and Jobs and all of those fantastic acronyms of development projects, on top of it is the digitization,” he added.
Dr Gideon Boako also made a promise to all will support in aiding victory.
Whoever is within the arena, to help us achieve that victory, we are ready to help them and the drivers are part of it,” he said.
The chairperson of the association, George Kwafo Owusu, who also urged the drivers not to disappoint the NPP said he believes that the Akufo-Addo led government will honor their promise if given the nod in the upcoming general elections.
“They gave us a promise that when they come to power, they are going to do free SHS, and ensure our graduates at home get work to do, and looking at what they’ve done, it is true that they have fulfilled the promise,” he said.
“That is why I organised my colleague drivers and told them that what we can do is organise ourselves as one union and campaign for the president so he can continue his good works,” he added.
