The Paramount Chief of Efuma-Ajumako Traditional Area, Okokodurfo Ogyeabo Kwamena Hammah Ababioa II, has stated that projects that were started in Efuma-Ajumako by the NDC administration have been abandoned by the incumbent government.
This was during a courtesy call on the chief by the presidential candidate for the National Democratic Congress, John Dramani Mahama during his campaign tour of the Central Region.
Okokodurfo Ogyeabo Kwamena Hammah Ababioa II welcomed the NDC and presented several requests by the people of Ajumako to Mr John Mahama.
These requests, he believed would be fulfiled by the party after the general elections.
"I present my letter of request to you so you can scrutinize it after your departure.
"The Ajumako, Bisiase, Assin Manso roads have been abandoned. The incumbent government has failed to complete the construction of these roads. They have been abandoned.
"When he (Akufo-Addo) assumed office, unfortunately, he could not complete these projects," he stated.
He further admonished Mr Mahama to ensure that the educational institution in Ajumako is made independent as was done in Asante Mampong.
He called for initiatives to be put in place to ensure the expansion of the institution's facilities.
"I am hopeful that when you assume office after the December polls, you would make these requests your priority and by the help of God, it will be a reality" he added.
Speaking to the people of Ajumako, Mr John Mahama stated that the NDC has a lot of achievements to speak of though he has been tagged as incompetent by the Akufo-Addo-led government.
According to him, 11 polyclinics were built in the Central Region by the NDC administration.
He then added that schools, electricity, and potable water were provided under his administration.
"Four years as president, I inherited a debt of 56 billion and with that amount, I constructed the Kasoa and Nkrumah Interchange, the expansion of Tema Harbour, Kotoka International Airport, the expansion of Tema Airport, among others," he added.
