Professor Naana Jane Opoku Agyemang, the running mate of NDC's flagbearer John Mahama, has described as detractors, persons misinterpreting what has become known as the 'NDC's mortuary policy'.

She advised the public to seek a better understanding of the policy from the party's leadership, rather than listening to persons who put out malicious explanations on the policy.

She stated that the office of the party's Regional Chairman is always open to those who want to understand the mortuary policy and urged their party members to be wary of comments and critique from persons who aren’t in the right position to talk about our policies.

Prof. Opoku Agyemang explained that the NDC leadership involved Islamic clergy in the policy making process and as such have their blessings for its implementation.

She said this during a courtesy call on the Chief and people of Barekese on Thursday as part of her six-day campaign tour of the Region ahead of the December 7, polls.

The tour is expected to see the former Education Minister visit 20 constituencies across the region, where she will present concrete solutions to their challenges as articulated in the NDC People’s Manifesto.
