The Presidential running mate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Prof. Naana Opoku Agyemang has donated items to two organizations on Wednesday as part of her ongoing commitment to support vulnerable persons in Ghana.
She visited a cluster of youth rehabilitation institutions in South Labone and the Makers Disability Foundation in Dansoman, Accra.
South Labone Girls Vocational Training Centre, Junior Girls Correctional Center are among several cluster youth rehabilitation institutions that benefited from the items donated.
Food supplies that include bags of rice, oil, cartons of water among others and an undisclosed cash donation were made to both institutions.
According to Prof. Opoku-Agyemang, she indicated that the gesture was part of her personal life long commitment to ensuring that those more susceptible to economic and social struggles received a hand of support.
"I believe that irrespective of circumstances, vulnerable Ghanaians, when accorded a fair chance, have the capacity to contribute something to our nation.
"This is my best effort to encourage these young ones to reorient their attitudes towards life and help their courageous caregivers to shape them into productive citizens.
She further admonished resourced persons in the country to follow her footsteps and assist the welfare of vulnerable persons.
"I hope my small contribution will inspire all well-meaning Ghanaians to do the same. I am confident that we can do it together," she added.
Party officials and individuals who were present include Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, MP for North Tongu, Deputy National Women's Organizer Abigail Elorm and Mr Mustapha Abubakar, Former Deputy CEO of Masloc among many others.
