National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate for Dome-Kwabenya constituency, Elikplim Akurugu has called on residents to vote for her as she seeks the parliamentary seat in the upcoming elections.

Addressing the media after submitting her parliamentary nomination on Wednesday, she said the time has come for the constituents to change the non-performing sitting Parliamentarian, Adwoa Safo to witness developmental initiatives in the area.

Amongst her initiatives, Mrs Akurugu pledged to institute a SME loan scheme for petty traders, establish a fire station, build an industrial park, advocate for the vulnerable, empower women through programmes and support needy but brilliant pupils.

“The cry of Dome Kwabenya people is change. Everywhere you go everybody is crying for change. This is the moment of change for Dome Kwabenya, the people are tired and they are demanding change” she stressed.

To her supporters, the Parliamentary Candidate expressed her gratitude for defying all odds to stand by her as she embarks on her political journey adding that she will not disappoint them if she win the elections.

“They stood in the rains to rally behind me and supported me in their high numbers; I appreciate every bit of this loyalty and commitment.

"I can say with the highest optimism that today's rains are showers of political blessing and a wind of change blowing across the whole Dome-Kwabenya Constituency.”

She also urged her constituents to vote for the flagbearer of the NDC, John Dramani Mahama for the country to progress.
