The National Board for Small Scale Industries (NBSSI) has reiterated its calls that the ongoing applications for the Covid-19 Recovery and Resilience Program for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) dubbed the ‘Nkosuo’ Programme does not require the payment of any fee.
According to a statement issued by Board, reports have been received that some citizens are still paying to apply for the programme that was launched in collaboration with MasterCard Foundation.
This, it stressed, is unacceptable since the organisation has not designated any middlemen or agents to assist potential applicants with their applications.
The establishment further noted that citizens facing any challenges along during the process should report to its business advisory centres in the various districts for assistance.
The ‘Nkosuo’ programme was launched on Wednesday, September 16, and being is funded by the Mastercard Foundation.
The ₵90 million programme is aimed at supporting MSMEs, as well as start-ups in sectors such as agriculture and agro-businesses, water and sanitation, healthcare and pharmaceuticals, trade and commerce, the creative arts, among others which were badly affected by the Covid-19.
Executive Officer for NBSSI, Kosi Yankey-Ayeh described it as a timely intervention as it will bring hope and most importantly, provide MSMEs an opportunity to accelerate the growth of their businesses.
