Former President John Dramani Mahama has expressed his disappointment in the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) administration for abandoning projects started under his government.

Speaking to the chiefs and people of Sunyani, the National Democratic Congress' presidential candidate accused the NPP government of abandoning the Sunyani Ring Road he started, thereby, stalling the progress of Sunyani.

"I came around to inspect the Sunyani Ring Road and it was a sad scene, I must say. During my tenure of office as president, the road was constructed to the level where all that was needed to complete it was as asphalt overlay".

He described the current state of the road as regrettable due to its neglect and blamed this on the culture of abandoning projects initiated by opposing administrations.

He added that the effect of this practice contributed to a delay in the progress of the nation as a whole and wasted the resources of the state as more money from taxpayers would have to be re-invested to complete the abandoned road.

In his address to the chiefs and people of Sunyani, he also promised to provide training centres fitted with modern diagnostic machines to equip them in the repair of vehicles as promised in their 2020 Manifesto.

He further assured them that workers including apprentices would be taken through the requisite training to understand and operate these types of equipment.

This, he said, would ensure that they are abreast with the technological advancement in the repair of vehicles.
