A non-profit organisation, Research Centre for Policy Advocacy and Governance (RECPAG) has called on government to address the concerns of health professionals in order to avert possible consequences in the face of Covid-19.

Their call comes on the back of ongoing strike action by the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA) over governments failure to agree to their demand for improved conditions of service.

The NGO says the least any government should do in critical times like this is to reach a consensus with frontline workers.

Patients have been left stranded in hospitals across the country as some health workers have embarked on strike Monday.

In a press statement dated Monday, September 21, 2020 and signed by the Executive Director of RECPAG, Mumuni Believer Likpalmo, they refered President Akufo-Addo to his revered March 27th, 2020 statement, saying:

"It is in this spirit that we call on the President to, as a matter of urgency reach out to these professionals to resume negotiations to and fashion out an amicable solution that works for both parties in our continuous fight against COVID-19".

Meanwhile, GRNMA has told managers of health facilities to direct their anger to the employer and not members of the association.
