Flutist Dela Botri says passion has kept him going in the face of what he says has been a tough journey in the music industry.
Speaking on the AM Show on JoyNews, the founder of Hewale Sounds revealed that money has caused most people to divert from what they really want.
He told Mamavi Owusu-Aboagye that; “You need to have passion and not focus too much on money, although money is good, if you focus too much on it, you will end up diverting from your goal”
The musician also advised artistes to learn to mix the Ghanaian tunes in their music to make it more authentic.
According to Dela Botri, many people come from afar to copy our tunes and provide good music hence the Ghanaian based artiste should also improve their music by trying to inculcate these tunes.
“Every country has its own culture, so if you want to do dancehall, hip-hop or hip life, you can do it. But let our Ghanaian sounds go into it because this is real, authentic and if the people hear it, they know this is from a particular country that we don’t have,” he said.
The internationally acclaimed musician also disclosed that he has worked with Diana Hopeson, Celestine Donkor and Kelvyn Boy and also has covers for a number of songs including Shatta Wale and Beyoncé’s ‘Already’, and ‘Angela’ by Kuami Eugene.
