Former Trades and Industry Minister Ekwow Spio-Gabrah is one of seven individuals who lost out in the election to decide who leads the NDC in the 2020 polls.
Not much has since been heard of him in the political space.
He told JoyNews’ Joseph Ackah-Blay that he has been focusing on mentoring the next generation of leaders.
“I am a generational thinker and also one who recognizes the privileges he has had based on my own efforts and also based on the support and encouragement of many others. That’s why I am on the business of mentorship,” Mr Spio-Garbrah explained.
The former flagbearer aspirant for the National Democratic Congress also advised the younger generation to “work hard, study hard, listen to your parents, follow the example of Jesus Christ, Mohammed and be a good citizen."
Ekwow Spio-Garbah was speaking at the 10th anniversary of his mentorship-centered foundation, ABCDE, on September 10, 2020.
As someone who has worked as the head of a church, a university, a minister of state, ambassador and a telecommunication expert, Mr Spio-Garbrah found his practice as a sales professional in Manhattan as the most fulfilling.
"I ended up as a salesman. The one that also gave me the greatest fulfillment. Where you started the day without any income. You are not guaranteed any salary per se and your earnings were based on your own hard work," he added.
